There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

WIA/POW 26 August, 1940 when, after being separated from the others, was attacked by Defiants of RAF No. 264 Sq. as they were headed toward the Medway airfield. Both engines were shot out and not running, and the cockpit had been hit. The ac ditched in the Goodwin Sands at low tide. Remaining crew: Uffz Richard Ritzel, Obs (POW); Uffz Helmut Reinhardt, R/O, age 27, (KIA, buried Ysselsteyn Block BQ, Row 6, Gr 136) and Gefr Heinz Huhn, Mech, age 21, (KIA, geb 12/2/1918, buried Cannack Chase, Gr 405-1). Both Essmert and Ritzel were interned in Canada. Source: RAF Combat Report # 313/1940. The ac was recovered in June 2013. Alternate spelling: Essmert.

KIFA the night of 3/4 September, 1943 in his G-4, crashing at Brummen, SW of Zutphen due to instrument failure in the clouds (DeSwart & Boiten). Added: He is buried at Ysselsteyn M-3-53; his R/O, Uffz H.Fischer was injured (SGLO). A former tank commander, he scored two known victories in Sept & October of 1942. Magnus. Another source says Eickmeier was KIA on 24 August, 1943 in aerial combat over Berlin. His R/O this date was said to be Ofw Helmut Fischer (WIA) who served with Knacke & Streib also. (4 September seems correct...from two different sources) One known victory, a Wellington 8 km east of St. Jüst on 3 September, 1942. Another, a Halifax on 16 October, 1942. Another, a Halifax on 13 May, 1943. A Wellington 2 km southwest of Vechtel on 12 June, 1943. A Lancaster on 23 June, 1943. Alternate spelling: Eikmeier. Added: Eiermann was WIA when his Do 17 was hit by AA fire while attacking Norwegian torpedo boats. He managed to make an emergency landing NE of Arendal Norway. Eiermann is buried in the War Cem. at Ploudaniel-Lesneven, 10/6/132 (D.Drury). Added: The JU 88 was sd by a Soviet fighter, with all the crew bailing. Three were captured and the unamed R/O managed to return to his unit. Remaining crew: Uffz K.Müller, the Pilot! and Gefr G.Schultz, Gnr. Lt Fanke served as Observer this date (D.Drury).

Furcht crashed into the sea, aflame, 20 miles east of Humber, off the Yorkshire coast. Remaining crew (all MIA): Hptm Heinz Schröder (Stfkpt 3/KG-4), Observer, Ofw Martin Hartel, wireless operator and Fw Eugen Seitz, mechanic. The body of Furcht and one other crewman were recovered by HMS Brazen, and it is believed they were given a seamans burial. Added: The crash occurred at sea, off Withernsea. The second body believed buried at sea was Ofw Marti Hartel. The remaining two deceased are buried at Ysselsteyn, Schröder AR/10/238 and Seitz BQ/6/131 (D.Drury).

Brief mention in Jager Blatt article with Friedrich Tober, Kdr IV/NJG-3. One known victory, a "4 mot" at Eupen on 16 December, 1943. A 2nd, a Lancaster on 28 May, 1944, no location. A 3rd, a "4 mot" S of Worthing on 7 June, 1944. A 4th, a "4 mot" at Soissons-Fismes on 29 June, 1944.

The pilot and the observer managed to bail out successfully. The deceased are buried at CC, Blk 1, Row 4; Fischer Gr 106, von Kuenheim Gr 107 and Saam Gr 108 (D.Drury).

Added: Remaining crew (Wk# 430184): Fw A.Grundmann, R/O and Uffz W.Nissel, Gnr, no VDK matches. In an earlier incident, 30 June, 1941, Uffz Gassel's Wk# 880402 was 50% damaged making a force landing at Klemensow airfield after being attacked by Soviet fighters. Uffz Gassel was wounded in the encounter. Remaining crew (Wk# 0402): Ofw K.Ulscht, Obs (WIA) and Uffz Udo-Botho von Valtier, R/O (KIA, commemorated in the Ger War Cem, Przemysl, Poland). The fourth member id unknown (D.Drury). Added: His D-3 was sd by Soviet fighters, and crashed on the shore of Rybinsk (D.Drury).

292 Geiger, ErwinFw1/KG-30Ju 88A-5 Werk # 8180 "4D + BH" (lost)Bomber Operational ClaspPOW 3 May, 1941 during a raid in the Liverpool area, when he was shot down by a Defiant of RAF No. 151 Sq., piloted by P/O Guy Edmiston and Gunner Sgt Albert Beale (one of few gunners awarded the DFM), and crashed off shore at Weybourne, Norfolk. Both engines were giving out so Geiger made a force landing on the beach. The Gunner, a 53 year old Major, was making his first war flight and was slightly injured. Remaining crew (POW): Fw Helmut Laser, Observer; Fw Richard Altmayer, R/O and Major Walter Seeburg, Gunner (WIA).

This AC appears to have already been in difficulty, having first been called by Rennes, without reply, from 04:42 hours, and they continued calling until 07:58 hours, while Nantes also tried unsuccessfully between 06:57 and 07:10 hours. Remaining crew (all KIA): Ogefr Helmut Tomschi, Observer; Uffz Karl Kainzinger, R/O and Uffz Adolf Lenz, Gunner. The crew were subsequently buried at Cranborne Cemetery. The ac crashed at Barbastro, Huesca, Spain. The crew were reported interned, with no mention of repatriation. Remaining crew: Gefr Erich Brucker and Gefr Fritz Jahrens (D.Drury).

300 Gerstenhauer, Hans HelmutLt5/28/1915Diepholz 4(H)/21 (7/39), 7(H)/21 (2/41), Aufkl.Gr.Ob.d.H. (10/41), JFS-4 (2/42), Überführungskdo Jüterbog (7/42), Erprobungsstelle Rechlin (5/44) Numerous Wound Badge, Observer Operational Clasp Early in his career, he flew numerous reconnaissance and ferry missions before numerous "specialty" assignments. In August 1942, he transferred to Focke-Achgelis, obtaining his commission in September. He was injured 5 May, 1944, when his Fa 223 V-11 "Dragon" helicopter crash landed near Bösel, Germany. His work at FA, as engineer and pilot, consisted of helicopter development, and in March 1945, he had undertaken rescue work for a Bf 109 pilot. After the war he worked with the Allies, and on 6 September, 1945, was the first pilot to fly a helicopter across the English Channel in Fa 223 V-14. Deceased 23 October, 2014 (D.Drury).
